Hiking

There are many reasons to stay more than a day in Zion. The Zion Adventure Company is Zion's premiere outfitter and guide service helping you explore the Zion Narrows, Canyoneering, Rock Climbing, Biking, River Tubing, Trailhead Shuttles, and Wilderness Education.

Open year-round. Zion National Park offers many trails ranging from short "leg stretcher" walks to strenuous adventures. If you wish to go into the backcountry it is required to check in at the visitor center in Zion National Park to obtain a backcountry permit and for detailed information on the trails of your choice. A variety of life zones and habitats makes Zion an excellent location for wildflower walks in spring and brilliant leaf color in autumn. In the spring the cactus are blooming and Indian Paintbrush is visible throughout much of the summer season.

Climbing & Canyoneering

Zion is the mecca of canyoneering, bringing an immense array of canyon types and difficulties all within reasonable logistical challenges. Zion's canyons have the remote feeling of far off place, but many of the finer trade routes are day events within an hour of a main road.

This accessibility has created a draw for those able to travel from Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and even southern California just for the weekend. But canyonering is new to Zion. The natives who traveled here 5000 years ago left stories on petroglyphs about the ominous world of slot canyons, and even as recent as a hundred years ago, men with cowboy boots an blue jeans were descending canyons still daunting to modern day canyoneers.
